“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
— Proverbs 18:10 (NIV)
Reflection on Today’s Verse
Proverbs 18:10 presents a vivid metaphor of God as a fortified tower, a place of safety and protection for the righteous. In ancient times, a strong tower provided refuge and security against enemies. Similarly, God’s name, representing His character and presence, is a secure refuge for those who trust in Him.
When life feels overwhelming or dangers arise, we can turn to the Lord, our fortified tower, and find safety. This verse encourages us to rely on God’s strength and protection rather than our own. Trusting in the Lord provides peace and assurance that we are secure in His care.
Personal Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being my fortified tower and refuge. Help me to run to You in times of need, trusting in Your protection and care. Thank You for the safety and security I find in Your name. Amen.
