“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
— Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
Reflection on Today’s Verse
There are moments in life when we feel overwhelmed, facing battles too big for us to handle. Our instinct is to fight, to fix, and to take control. But this verse reminds us that God fights for us.
When the Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army, fear gripped them. But Moses assured them with this powerful truth: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Being still doesn’t mean doing nothing—it means trusting in God, surrendering our worries to Him, and allowing Him to work things out. If you’re facing a battle today, remember that God is already fighting on your behalf. Rest in His power.
Personal Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I surrender my battles to You. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that You are my defender. Help me to be still and trust in Your power, knowing that You fight for me. Strengthen my faith and lead me in Your perfect peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
